August Favourites

I haven't been using too many new products this month so this months favourite consists of only make up! 

Soleil Tan de Chanel - £31

I have been wearing this under my foundation all month as I am still pretty tanned from my holidays. It look natural and gives my skin the perfect glow. I think I will have to start using it as a contour soon as my tan starts to fade. You can read my full review here. 

MAC Pro Longwear Lipglass (Next Fad) - £17.50

I am not really a lipgloss wearer but recently I have been loving bronzed make up, smokey eye and glossy lips. This gloss is not too sticky so is much easier to wear without my hair stuck to my lips. It also has a lovely light pink colour too it. Only downside is I wouldn't say they are especially long wearing I definitely needed a top up every hour or so! 

Bobbi Brown Blush (Apricot) - £19

This blush has been my new favourite and will be easy to take into the new a/w season. My first time using a BB blush and will definitely not my last. Amazing pigmentation, long lasting and gives a healthy finished look to your make up. You can read my full review and see me wearing it here.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo (On and On Bronze) - £4.99

I had raved about these in a previous post here but I seriously cannot get enough of this gorgeous shade. I think I have worn it pretty much everyday since I got it. It is the perfect base and I have been loving using a few of my favourite like mac all that glitters, mac satin taupe and a number of shades from the naked basics palette. If you buy one thing this month make it this. 

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick (Streak) - £15

Another gorgeous lipstick I have been loving. I really struggled to choose my favourite lipstick for the month as I have bought so many recently. This has been perfect with my smoky eye look. I will definitely be picking up more of these as they are really moisturising and have some lovely shades! Read my full review here. 

Estee Lauder Suptumous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara* (Exteme Black) - £22

Last but not least this mascara has currently taken over my Benefit they're real. It has a really big brush but with the perfect shade to get into those awkward lashes. It really thickens and lengthens my lashes without any clumping and there is no smudging under my eyes. What else could I want?! 

That's my August favourites and into September we go where the days get shorter and the nights get longer. I absolutely love summer but I do also quite like the cosy nights in and sorting out my winter wardrobe and beauty picks. I'm sure it won't be long until I'm complaining about the cold!

e.l.f Mineral Moisturizing Lip Tint

I actually do quite like e.l.f cosmetics, they have a huge variety of products that are afforadable and there are definitely some gems. The latest thing for me to try are their mineral moisturizing lip tints* which I have to say I am quite impressed with. 

I was asked to choose two shades out of the eight and went with berry* a deep reddy pink and blush* a light pink. My favourite is definitely berry* it is really wearable for everyday buts add a pop of colour. I would say if you are looking for a lipstick for school/work and not allowed anything too heavy then these will be perfect for you. They are very comfortable to wear and definitely leave my lips feeling moisturised without feeling like I need to reapply every five minutes which a lot of other lip balm type products do (looking at you babylips). 

The thing that impressed me the most was the wear time, as the name suggests they leave a tint which after 3/4 hours does start to wear off. I felt for the price of the product this was great considering some luxury brands at £25 a lipstick don't last nearly as long. 

Also these lip tints contain SPF 8 and are completely mineral based and 100% natural. What more can you want? Well the best bit about these are they are only £3.50 and with e.l.f doing half price offers there really is no reason not to give these a go.

Bobbi Brown Blush: Apricot

Okay bit of a cheeky move here using the same picture from a previous post but I felt this picture showed the blush as good as any! I have been working loads this week and had no time for blogging, but I am back this week with lots of lovely things to show you. 

Starting with the beautiful blush from Bobbi Brown in the shade Apricot. This is actually my first blush from them as I had hummed and hawed over what shade to get for ages. I decided I had enough peaches to last me a lifetime so decided to go for something I don't really have in my collection already. 

Apricot looks really scary in the pan being a bright shocking pink and it is pretty pigmented so does need applied with a light hand or swirling your brush in the pan and tapping the excess off. Once blended into the skin it is gives a gorgeous natural flush of colour that I think makes the skin look really healthy. 

Blushes usually do not last very long on me I always find after a few hours they have faded and are needing re applied but with this I completed an eight hour shift and could still see the lovely pop of colour on my cheeks. 

I definitely need more Bobbi Brown blushes in my collection as for me they work perfectly!

I am a huge fan of stationary and from a #bbloggers chat last week I found so are a lot of my fellow bloggers and readers! When notonthehighstreet contacted me asking to do a little review I knew I couldn't let it pass. 

notonthehighstreet sells unique and personalised gifts for pretty much any occasion and every item is sent directly from the small business that is selling it. You could spend hours on the site looking at all the gorgeous gifts from wedding gifts to something for your pet. 

The first thing I chose was this gorgeous notebook* that I got personalised with my blog name. This book is the perfect size for popping in my hand bag and writing down any blog ideas I have. It really would make the perfect gift for someone who is always making little notes or you could even treat yourself. 

Next I though this personalised pencil case* and pencils* were too cute. The pencils are great for if you have a child at school who is forever loosing things because their name isn't on them. Or a lovely gift for a keen drawer. 

The last thing I chose because I was curious about it. It is a journal* that gives you one question every day to answer for a year and then you start again and see how your answers compare each year. Me and Chrissy have been together 6 years tomorrow and I think it would be a nice idea to start it together then. I am also going to order one for my friend who is getting married next year. This is such a great gift for any age. 

I had never been on notonthehighstreet but I know it will be my go to website now when I cannot think what to get my boyfriends mum or my uncle. It has beautiful home, pet and baby gifts, also fashion and jewellery? this website has you covered. 

Another note to add is each item I received came from the individual sellers and were all very prompt delivery including the personalised items.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick: Streak

When I saw the first lot of reviews of these lipsticks I knew I neeed streak in my life before it was even released. As soon as these lipsticks hit the shops I went out and got it! Urban Decay is well known for its amazingly pigmented buttery eyeshadows but not lipsticks. Until now that is as these are just amazing. 

First of all I really like the packaging it is pretty sleek and sticks to Urban Decay's colour scheme. The only thing is I keep thinking the lid is the lipstick side, not sure why! 

I went for streak - a peachy pink - as from the pre release swatches it was my favourite however after looking in store there are some great shades to choose from. The lipstick is extremely moisturising and for me isn't showing up any dry patches. It lasts around 3 hours on me before having to re touch but I think this is because it is so creamy. 

I really cannot fault these lipsticks and will definitely be purchasing a few more both naked and bang have taken my fancy. 

These lipsticks are £15 which is on par with MAC so I think this is pretty reasonable! - here

Maybelline Colour Tattoos

L to R: Permanent Taupe, On and On Bronze, Eternal Bronze

I have owned Permanent Taupe for quite a while and kind of forgot about it. It was only when thinking about buying some MAC paint pots that I remembered about it. I then decided to add a couple more to by collection on and on bronze and eternal bronze. These are super easy to use, they make the perfect base or are lovely on their own for a quick wash of colour! 

I'm not sure about lasting 24 hours but they do certainly last the full time I have my make up on without any creasing or fading. I think my favourite at the moment is On and On Bronze as it is perfect for everyday. I will definitely be needing to add a couple more to my collection including metallic pomegranate and pink gold. 

These really should be in everyones make up bag, they are only £4.99 and will last for ages.

Soleil Tan De Chanel

First of all I want to apologise for hour terrible these picture are. I just could not photograph this no matter how hard I tried. This really was the best of a bad bunch. 

I bought this in duty free about 3 weeks ago and have worn it everyday since. I had heard mixed reviews and was contemplating buying the bourjois primer mousse instead but I am so glad I went for this as it is perfect for me. 

Right now I am really tanned after the ridiculous amount of sun I have had (naughty) so I have been using this as my all over base. This is something I definitely could not get away with when my skin is it's normal shade but right now it is perfect and really evens out my skin tone. I have been using a tinted moisturiser on top as I do find it a little dry/matte looking on my skin where I am someone who prefers a dewy look. 

It is actually completely different feeling from the Bourjois 'dupe' after swatching it is store. It is a creamy product that at the moment I have been applying using my expert face brush. However when I change to using this only as a bronzer or contouring I think I will make use my fingers as it is so creamy. 

Over all this is perfect if you are tanned/olive skinned for warming up the face or using as a bronzer/contour if you are paler.

Estee Lauder Art of Smokey

I have always considered Estée Lauder a luxurious and classy brand and have a particular love for their eyeshadows. When I was asked to review their Art Of Eyes Dramatic Smoky * kit  I was really excited to try some of their other products. 

The kit contains four products and a little make up bag. It includes a full size mascara, a miniature of their Pure Intense Kajal eyeliner and Double Wear concealer. There is also a gorgeous travel size palette to help create the perfect smoky eye. 

Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara (Extreme Black)

I was super happy to see that this was the full size product included in the kit as I have heard so many good things about it. I was not disappointed and will definitely be repurchasing this. The brush is pretty big but the shape of it allows you to get into every lash without any problems. I found this mascara really did thicken and lengthen my lashes without clumping together. 

Pure Intense Kajal Eyeliner (Blackened Black)

I am not a huge wearer of eyeliner and have probably never tried a high end eyeliner but think I have been converted. After just one swipe of the eyeliner leaves the most amazing pigmentation of true matte black. It feel creamy and lasted all day without smudging. For a eyeliner novice this is perfect!

Double Wear Concealer. (Light/Medium)

I have read 100's of reviews about the Double Wear Foundation but never about the concealer so I was intrigued by this product. This is definitely a full coverage concealer and worked really well under my eyes in covering dark circles. It is really creamy and moisturising and did not settle into fine lines. If you are a fan of the Collection concealers coverage but find it too drying I would definitely recommend this. 

Five Eyeshadow Compact.

This contains five of their Pure Colour Eyeshadows. The shades include Sugar Cube, Sepia Sand, Silver Bell, Lavish Mink and Amazing Grey. As always with Estée Lauders eyeshadows they are creamy and last the majority of the day. They weren't all super pigmented however I did find they created a gorgeous smoky eye that could be worn during everyday. My only dislike was I felt the packaging was not as luxurious as the rest of their eyeshadows.

Overall for £32 the Art of Eyes Dramatic kit* is completely worth it especially if you are looking to try some of their products before buying the full size version. It is currently sold out in Harrods however you may be able to pick one up in store.

Favourite Summer Blushes

I am currently on holiday and have scheduled this post for today (that is why my posts have been so few and far between!) Today I thought it would be nice to share with you my favourite summer blushes. I feel I have a good mix here a matte, a shimmer and a cream!

Sleek £4.49 (Lifes A Peach) - Yes this is the bright orange blush on the left that looks extremely scary in the pan but actually when you try it is gorgeous. It is completely matte so if you hate shimmer this is perfect for you. It does go on quite sheer but is very easily build able and you are left with a gorgeous flush of peach. 

NARS £21.50 (NARS Luster) - If you are more a fan of shimmery blushes this is definitely for you. I love using this on holiday (like now) when I have more a glow to me as this really helps catch the light in all the right places. This again is pretty sheer but very easily build able. It is more of a golden peach/apricot! Sorry I am terrible at descriptions.

Illamasqua £17.50 (Androgen) - This is one of illamasquas cream pigments designed to be used on lips eyes body wherever! I definitely prefer this the most on the cheeks. This is a gorgeous pink coral colour that blends so well into the cheeks leaving a really healthy look, it also lasts pretty much all day perfect for the hot weather.

MAC Nylon & All That Glitters

This is an eyeshadow combo I have been loving as it is so simple and easy to do but looks perfect for the summery months. I mentioned these in my July favourites and it is definitely a summer favourite than just July!

I simply take Nylon - which is an almost white but more gold highlight colour, I love it as it is so versatile. I use this colour all over the lids using a MAC 217 brush. I then take all that glitters in the inner corner using the same brush. All that glitters is more of a bronze gold with a veluxe pearl finish. 

It's just a quick one today but I really wanted to share this lovely combo and would really recommend these two eyeshadows especially if you are just starting your MAC or eyeshadow collection!

MAC Summer Lipsticks

This was supposed to be a top three mac summer lipsticks posts but I couldn't decide so it has became four. MAC lipsticks are definitely my favourite type of lipstick, they have such a wide selection so know matter what type of finish or shade you are after they will have something to suit you.

I love nudes but during summer time it is definitely time to bring out the brights and but I couldn't leave out my new favourite which is perfect for those who are not as confident with bold lipsticks. 

Viva Nicki Glam (Satin) - This is a gorgeous bright pink that has a hint of coral in it. It looks much more coral in the bullet than it does on the lips. On the lips is appears a very wearable Barbie pink. It is limited edition and all of the profits go to a HIV charity. So its not a real purchase then? Guilt free!

Girl About Town (Amplified)  - This is a gorgeous blue toned deep pink, more of a fushia pink. It is very bold but is perfect for summer. It is also really easy to wear due to it being so creamy.

Impassioned (Amplified) - This is a bright neon pink again with a hint of coral. This is probably my favourite out of the brights. It looks so gorgeous with a tan. 

Coral Bliss (Cremesheen) - This featured in my July favourites as I was looking for another cremesheen lipstick. This is a really wearable coral for anyone who is a bit scared of brights but still wants to look more summery.
